Treating your dog to the Spa for grooming
on a regular basis will help to ensure your dog feels and looks
fantastic! Regular grooming can prevent problems such as excessive
shedding, skin and paw disorders, painful mats, and bad breath, as well
as help you identify other problems that might go unnoticed without the
extra attention.
Dogs need to have
their nails trimmed regularly. It's more than just for show; overgrown
nails can:
¤ cause a dog's foot to splay which
can lead to gait and posture problems or even lameness
¤ grow into a dog's tender pad and
become infected
¤ split, break or be torn off all
together
¤ cause damage to a person's clothing
and skin as well as furniture, carpets, etc.
Just because.....
The Ears The ears of a dog are very sensitive and
susceptible to infection, excessive wax buildup and
parasite infestation. A gentle cleaning with the proper products will
eliminate most problems,
but if constant itching, scratching or odor persists, you should see a
veterinarian.
The Brush-out
Brushing:
Brushing your dog helps to reduce shedding, stimulate circulation and
prevent parasites
such as fleas and ticks. Regular brushing
can also prevent painful matting.
The Bath & Brush
Bathing:
Regular bathing keeps your dog's skin
healthy, her or his coat clean and shiny, and her or
his scent pleasant . It also helps to
remove unwanted, dead, loose hair.
The Pearly Whites Teeth Brushing:
Just like
humans, dogs enjoy the benefits of having their teeth brushed. Besides
freshening
their breath, it reduces tartar and helps prevent periodontal disease.
For chronic problems, of
course, you should
consult your veterinarian.
